1. Purpose of this notice

Before we launch W Social publicly, we are inviting a small group to receive early updates and confidential information about W Social.

This notice explains what personal data we collect during the pre launch phase, why we collect it, how we use and store it, with whom we share it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. A separate and more detailed privacy policy will apply once the platform is launched.

If you have questions about this notice or wish to exercise your rights, contact us at info@wsocial.eu.

2. Personal data we collect

When you visit our website, we collect the following standard data:

  • Device and browser information including IP address
  • Geographic location (approximate)
  • Log files and server data

When you sign up for early access, we collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Identification and contact information, such as your name and email address.
  • Verification information you choose to provide if identity verification is requested.
  • Interaction data related to our pre launch communications, such as email delivery, opens, link clicks, and unsubscribe preferences, collected via standard email analytics.

We do not process posts, comments, or any social platform content, as the platform is not yet live.

We do not intentionally collect special categories of data at this stage.

3. Purposes and legal bases for processing

We process your personal data for the following purposes and on the corresponding legal bases:

  • Sending pre launch updates and information about W Social,
  • Managing the invitation list, including optional identity verification to maintain the integrity of the pre launch group.
  • Protecting the confidentiality of information shared before launch, including monitoring misuse and addressing potential breaches. Our legal basis is our legitimate interests in safeguarding proprietary and confidential information.
  • Improving and measuring the effectiveness of our pre launch communications, including basic analytics on delivery, opens, and clicks.

Where you provide optional information or opt in to specific updates, our legal basis is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. Otherwise, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in preparing and protecting the launch of W Social. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance those interests against your rights and freedoms and implement appropriate safeguards, including opt out options and data minimization.

4. Confidentiality of pre launch materials

Information we share with you before launch is confidential and for your personal use only. When signing up, you agree not to disclose, copy, or distribute pre launch materials, screenshots, or other information unless we explicitly indicate it may be shared.

5. Where we process your data and international transfers

We process and store personal data:

  • within the EU/EEA
  • and in Switzerland, where certain systems or service providers are located. Switzerland benefits from an adequacy decision by the European Commission, meaning transfers from the EU/EEA are permitted without additional transfer tools.

If we exceptionally transfer personal data to countries without an adequacy decision, we will implement appropriate safeguards under GDPR (such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses) and, where necessary, supplementary measures. You may contact us for more information about these safeguards.

6. Recipients and access to your data

We may share your personal data with:

  • Trusted service providers acting as processors, for example, providers of email delivery, identity verification, hosting, security, and data storage. These providers process personal data only on our documented instructions, are bound by confidentiality, and are subject to appropriate security and contractual commitments.
  • Public authorities or other third parties where required by applicable law or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not permit our processors to use your personal data for their own independent purposes.

7. Retention

We retain your personal data until the public launch of W Social, unless you unsubscribe or object earlier. After launch, we may invite you to accept the platform terms and read the full platform privacy policy. If you do not accept, we will delete your pre launch data unless continued retention is required by law, necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, or needed to demonstrate compliance (for example, opt out records).

We apply data minimization and review our retention on a periodic basis to ensure data is not kept longer than necessary for the purposes described above.

8. Your rights

Subject to the conditions and exceptions under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data;
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten");
  • Restrict processing;
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including direct marketing related processing;
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent; and
  • Receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine readable format and transmit it to another controller (data portability).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise your rights, contact us at info@wsocial.eu. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access. Access is restricted to personnel and service providers who need it for the purposes described and who are bound by confidentiality obligations.

10. Children's data

Our pre launch program is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children for pre launch purposes. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

11. Updates to this notice

We may update this notice to reflect changes in our processing or applicable law. We will indicate the date of the latest revision and, where appropriate, notify participants of material changes.
